I am not someone who normally cares for something that happens
around me unless it is really related to me.
Even though I have heard many stories of people murdering each other or
fighting over the property or fighting for the stupid democratic throne, which
is currently happening in “KARNATAKA”, or any other seriously issues, I never thought about or criticized it even for a second
after reading or listening about it. More than that I always avoided reading or
listening to those kind of incidents. But 16th December’s has left
me devastated and shattered.
I am terribly hurt and with immense pain I wish to say that I am ashamed
to be a citizen of this country whose law and order has no powers to punish a
person who ruined someone’s life in such brutal way. And something that baffles
me even more is that people are not scared even after being aware of the fact
that frustrated and responsible citizens are protesting for the punishment of
the accused. There are rape cases that are reported in every part of our country.
Even in the city of Delhi.
Is someone sexual satisfaction really more than an innocent girl’s life?
Is there no value for an individual in this country? How can people survive in
future? Is fight of power and making money so important for foolish
politicians? How can the CM of Delhi (Sheila Dixti) make a statement that law
and order is not there in her hand? What
more than the present scenario must happen for the so called NATIONAL LEADERS
to wake up? Where is our society heading to? Why should the prime minister
deliver speeches about the actions they would take instead of bringing it into
force? Do I have a reason to tell
proudly say that I am a citizen of this country?
The existing law was framed by British to defend them when they harmed Indian women. Should we retain the same law and order? NO, NOT AT ALL! But how can we initiate that movement of changing the whole system. The system has become so strong in the negative way that people who raise their voice questioning this are being crushed. When will this country change? Perhaps never, if we wait for someone to change the country for us. It’s high time that we citizens have to really WAKE UP and do something so that we can protect ourselves.
Women shouldn’t be symbolized as a piece of pleasure. The youth’s
prospective about getting modernization has to change. Women have to be treated
equal to men in the real sense. Equal treatment doesn’t mean that women has to
be raised up to men, it also mean that men has to come down up to women. And this
cannot be achieved by mere amending laws. Through framing new laws or amending
the existing ones it’s only possible only compel an individual to follow the
masses heading towards the change. But real change can occur only when the
mindset of the entire society change. That happens only if every individual
contribute towards the change. Parents must teach their child to be a human
being first, to empathies other problems, to love more than hate rather than only teaching BRAND NEW ways to
make money to themselves and for their coming generations.
This is my society and I must
change it rather than waiting for someone to do it for me
